From the Founder
A Letter from the Founder:
Dear friends,
What a difference God can make in a life! Over twenty years ago I sat alone in a dark prison cell with thoughts of suicide filling my mind. In despair I wrote these words: “Alone in the darkness is a feeling I can’t explain, except for the loneliness and never-ending pain. Living in a world where fear leads the way, with only the hope that tomorrow will bring a brighter day.”
Little did I know the hope I was seeking would be found in Jesus Christ, and through Him I would be set free from the bondage of alcohol and drugs that had held me prisoner for so many years. Now as founder of Wisdom in Living Life Ministry, my life’s work is to prevent others from going down that same road of abuse and addiction.
Over the years, I’ve worked with families and individuals throughout the Upstate. I’ve seen the devastation that addiction leaves behind: death, broken families, and damaged children, limping into the new generation as casualties of alcoholism and drug addiction.
How will we respond to this challenge? How will we get on the front end of this growing epidemic that has killed more people than all the wars of our history combined? The good news is that through caring people like you, we are making a lasting difference in the lives of people right here in Greenville.
Through Wisdom in Living Life Ministry, we are educating pastors, churches, business and secular leaders, and families about the signs of alcohol and drug abuse, teaching them how to fight this war on addiction. The purpose of our ministry is simple. We exist to: “Educate, equip, and empower God’s people to effectively reach those imprisoned by addiction.”
